Welcome to the blog. As promised, I will start with a commentary on late night television. I have been recording Conan's show for about 2 years now. My DVR starts about 5 minutes early each night meaning that usually, the band playing on Leno gets lumped into my recording. It has amazed me over the past years that Leno never has good bands. I don't know what his deal is, but he always gets top 40 bands or obscure country and bluegrass bands. I understand that these types of bands must be mixed in; however, it seemed like they were purposely avoiding the genre that I appreciate. It was to the point that I would rarely check the act before fast forwarding to Conan's monologue. The thing is this. Recently, Leno has had a few good bands on: Black Kids, Cold War Kids, Death Cab, and TV on the radio. I wonder what happened...perhaps a new employee (closer to my musical tastes) is now booking the acts. Then again, David Cook is on for Friday.

I had no idea you liked Conan so much. I watched him for a few minutes last night and turned it off because he was so vile. What am I missing?

It is probably a good thing that Jess kicked you off her blog. It's good to hear you are still going strong. I enjoyed your diatribe against socialism. I guess that was the last straw for Jess.
I don't really watch Conan anymore for a variety of reasons, but he easily has the best bands of any late night show - it's not even close.
I have always hated Jay's show. It is unwatchable for me from start to finish.
Conan lover here. He. Is. Hilarious. And I agree with all that band stuff.. blah blah.. yada yada..

i always tape conan too, and i agree, Leno's music is way lame! did you watch last night's conan when he was doing the Obama beet jokes? The honeymoon's over barrack!
